JEFF VITALE began life as Amayyas, a boy of Tuareg and Sicilian heritage who spent his first fourteen years in the desert. When his family was massacred by Islamists, he discovered that his mother had been spying for the CIA for many years, which he believes is why they were killed. The Sufi master of his clan had foretold that Amayyas would leave the desert to live in the wide world and do great things. But when he finds out the identity of the killers and learns that they’re implicated in a rogue nuclear plan in Africa, he launches his own mission to Nigeria. When his partner dies helping him, the CIA opts to let Jeff go. But his old friend Samira has started her own international security firm and is gunning for the killers for her own reasons. She asks Jeff to join her ranks, promising he’ll finally have the chance to bring them to justice.
